Arvada Colorado is located in Jefferson County, Colorado. Arvada Colorado started with the discovery of gold on June 22, 1850 in the Ralston River, so named for the prospector, Lewis Ralston who found the $5 nugget in his first pan. Eventually, a railroad was constructed and on December 1st, 1870 Benjamin Wadsworth and Louis Reno posted notices and filed a town plat to create Arvada, Colorado. It would be another 7 years before Colorado achieved statehood! Arvada, Colorado was named for Hiram Arvada Haskin, the brother-in-law of Wadsworth's wife. The city was officially incorporated on August 24th, 1904.

Today, Arvada Colorado boast over 100,000 residents and is still growing. Arvada is 35 sq miles in size, close to the mountains and surrounded by other cities including Denver CO, Westminster CO, Lakewood CO and Golden CO. The Arvada Center for the Performing Arts is recognized as a top theatrical and cultural center and draws from the entire Denver Metro area. Easy access to I-70, Hwy 36 and Hwy 76 and a planned beltway extension make Arvada an easy to access area.
